I have always had a fascination with colors and textures, and that naturally translated into an impressive collection of polishes. Always searching for that special color that I can see in my head but never find on a shelf, lead me to become a kitchen chemist and start mixing my own polishes. I was like a kid playing with finger paints for the first time. After initially wondering if I could really do this, I dove right in with both hands and I was not afraid to make a mess. (much to my husbands dismay-bless his patient heart) Every time a color emerged that was exactly as I had imagined it, a loud squeal would escape my lips and I would run through the house with a goofy grin on my face exclaiming "Look at it!! LOOK AT IT!" I was always looking for a test subject to try out my new creation (I have three daughters), and picking the brains of family members for names for my babies. I believe I even asked the dog once.
Eventually I gathered enough courage to show some of them to members outside of my loyal fan club, and the reaction was outstanding. When I started getting requests to make an extra bottle from those who loved my blends, I knew it was more than just a friendly "Oh that looks great" pat on the back in hopes of making my efforts not seem wasted. (little do they know, that I would throw all my polishes on my bed and roll in them if I wasn't afraid of breaking some) Feeling ever braver and more creative I continued mixing, and creating, and swatching, and dreaming up colours, and researching, and ordering and sharing, and naming, and that brings us to today. The release of my first collection of Girly Bits polishes called Sea's the Day.
As cliche as it sounds, I can't even begin to explain how much of a positive influence you have all been in getting this collection from a creative spark of an idea to reality. I do hope you love it as much as I do, and I hope it brings you as much joy as it has brought me in creating and sharing my passion, my love, and my obsession with you.
