Guest Post Series, with My Life in Polish. (Stamping)

Today, I welcome Sara from My Life in Polish to the blog. I am a fairly new follower of her blog, but I was immediately impressed with her swatches, and layering choices. Be sure to head over to her blog, and show her some love!

Thank you Sara, for sharing your pretty creation with us! I think it's so classy looking!

Hi Everyone!  I'm Sara from My Life in Polish.  I'm so excited to be posting here today.  Today I have a subtle stamping mani for you.  I started with two coats of Barielle Decadence, teal perfection in a bottle.  Then I added one coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Ice Pop so it had some sparkle.  Since I can't leave well enough alone I stamped a swirly pattern using Zoya Ziv.

Ziv stamped surprisingly well.  I really hope you all enjoyed this mani.  Big thanks to Pam for having me today.  I hope you all have an amazing day!

Guest Post Series, with Chameleon Stampede

Here are are at a Monday... again. For me, this Monday has always marked the beginning of the end of summer because here in Canada the kids go back to school the day after Labour day. It's always a fun week, because we head to our cottage on Pelee Island for a week of relaxation with the family, but it's also a sad week because we know the relaxed vibe of summer is coming to an end.

In my absence this week, you will no doubt enjoy these colourful creations by Mandy, of Chameleon Stampede. Mandy always has a variety of different looks, to suit just about anyone's tastes. From indies, to  mainstream, from stamping to nail art, she will show you something fun. She also has tutorials, comparisons, and other random beauty related posts.

Hello everyone!  <waves>
I'm so excited to do a guest post today for the amazing Pam!  My name is Mandy and I have a blog called Chameleon Stampede www.ChameleonStampede.blogspot.com  I wanted to do something special, so I decided to give one stroke flowers another try.  One stroke mani's always look special to me.  I also turned to my jewelry for color inspiration.

chameleon stampede

The base of this mani is 2 coats of China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On.  It's one of those perfect spring/summer mint colors with some added shimmer and it's got the best name!

chameleon stampede

I really like tone on tone designs because they are subtle and bold somehow at the same time.  I made these green petals that don't really resemble any particular flower, but they're still fun.  I added some yellow to make them stand out and add depth.

chameleon stampede

I love how my thumb turned out!  It looks the best… maybe because it was the last nail I did and I had a bit of practice at that point.

Here's a quick pick of my bracelets in case you want to see them.  This pattern was a pain in the butt, but they turned out ok.  I always notice the mistakes, but I think we all have a bad habit of doing that with our own work.

I hope you like my mani and that you'll join me soon in the CHAMELEON STAMPEDE!
Thanks again for having me Pam!

Thanks and love!
-Mandy

Guest Post Series, with Captivating Claws - Camo Watermarble

Today I am excited to be able to once again share with you, a post by a guest blogger that I have known from the beginning. Jodi from Captivating Claws ordered some polishes from the first Girly Bits launch (which by the way has an anniversary coming up!!) Her order was number 22 from the Sea's the Day Collection, so I thought it was fitting that this posted on the 22nd. Jodi's order was for  Denim Diva, Razzle Dazzle and  Stormy Skies (original version)
Jodi has become well known for her watermarbles, and I recall THIS ONE from about a year ago or so that made me a forever fan of them.
Thank you Jodi, for gracing our page with your beautiful creations.
♥Pam♥

Hey Everyone..  I'm Jodi from Captivating Claws..  I was so excited when Pam asked me to create a guest post for her blog.  I've "known" Pam for a while now.. We met in a polish group on Facebook and it's been really great watching her huge success with Girly Bits!!

I've had a crazy summer and haven't had much time for nail art, but for this post, I decided on a water marble.  I used to do them about once a week, but I just haven't had the time lately.  For this "Camo Marble" I used three new Zoyas from The Cashmeres Collection for Fall.. Flynn, Hunter, and Louise..

I started with a base coat of Flynn (nude) and marbled with Flynn, Hunter (green) and Louise (dark brown).  Zoyas cremes are always a bit thick, so this marble wasn't that easy for me.  The colors didn't spread easily in the water and I had a problem with water bubbles, but ultimately, I really like this marble.  I topped it off with China Glaze Fast Forward topcoat.

Thanks to Pam for inviting me to be a part of all the guest posts she's been hosting lately.. It was fun!! :)

Guest Post Series, with Polish Obsession. Featuring Razzle Dazzle and Nail Art

Hiya!! I am so happy to have Marisa from POLISH OBSESSION on the blog today. I have followed her blog for a long time, and she is a long time customer of Girly Bits, so it's perfect that she is here today to share her creations with all of you. Marisa always has a wide variety of colours and textures on her blog, and had quite an assortment of Indies, so she is a good reference point if you are looking. She is also quite active on TWITTER, so be sure and check her out!

Thank you Marisa, for sharing with us today, and especially for choosing things close to my heart.

♥Pam♥

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!

My name is Marisa and I'm the writer of Polish Obsession.  I'm so happy to have the opportunity to do a guest post for Pam.  I'm a huge fan of her polishes and I've been a blog follower for a long time, so I'm truly honored.

For this post, I wanted to do something really fun, so I grabbed Razzle Dazzle, one of my favorite Girly Bits polishes.  Here's what I came up with.

Razzle Dazzle, Nail art, Fan brush
Artificial Light
Index finger: Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power with polka dots using Nicole by OPI I'm a Belieber and Girly Bits Razzle Dazzle
Middle: Orly Au Champagne as a base with I'm A Belieber and Fuchsia Power using a fan brush
Ring: Tape mani (using striping tape) with Razzle Dazzle and I'm a Belieber
Pinky: Three coats of Razzle Dazzle on its own.

nail art, fan technique
Artificial Light

Natural Light
I'm a huge lover of pink and purple together, so I really like how this mani turned out.  I decided to do the fan brush technique on my middle finger because it's something Pam really liked when I did a previous mani using the technique.

Thanks for reading!  I hope you guys liked seeing this mani.  Thanks for having me Pam!

Guest Post Series, with Refined and Polished featuring Razzle Dazzle

Today's guest blogger is Lakeisha, from Refined and Polished. She and I met a few years ago, in a nail polish group when Girly Bits was in it's infancy. It's so awesome to see that she still has love for the original release of Razzle Dazzle, shown here in the original bottle with the paper label, and two colour logo. It's even a mini! Oh how things have changed.
Lakeisha typically pairs her manicures with fashion inspiration boards, which is a great way of viewing the seasons colour trends. Be sure and check out her blog, for many different colour pairings and fashion styles to suit any taste!

Thank you so much for sharing with us today!
♥Pam♥

Hey dolls! I’m Lakeisha from Refined and Polished and it is my absolute pleasure to be a part of Pam’s guest blogger series! We met several years ago in a nail polish facebook group and it has been great to watch Girly Bits grow into such an amazing brand. Of course for this guest post, I had to start with one of Pam’s polishes. When Pam previewed the first Girly Bits collection in our group, Razzle Dazzle was the one that caught my eye the most. It is a raspberry jelly base that is filled with scattered holo particles and fuchsia, blue, and copper glitter. The base of Razzle Dazzle builds up nicely, so three coats were used. I wanted to pull out the blue sparkles in Razzle Dazzle, so I used two coats of Illamasqua Cameo, a gorgeous cornflower blue, on the accent nails. My favorite types of nail art are polka dots and striping tape and I always love an opportunity to pair the two together. Lately, I can’t get enough of doing various sized polka dots on just a portion of the nail.

I've never used a glitter as the base for a striping tape accent before and I absolutely love the way Razzle Dazzle sparkles under the creme. This look is the epitome of how I like my nail art; simple but chic and relatively effortless. I adore creating fashion boards inspired by the polish I’m wearing as well, since my love for the two go hand in hand. I hope that you all have enjoyed this look. If you would like to see more, please feel free to keep up with me on Refined and Polished, facebook, or instagram. Thanks again Pam for allowing me to share with your fans!

Guest Post Series; with xoxo Jen

Good afternoon lovelies!!! Can you believe that August is half way over?!!? I am still waiting for summer to start here. It's been a crazy year here at the Girly Bits Headquarters and I just don't know where the time goes, but as they say; time flies when you're having fun!!

Today I am happy to share with you a guest post by Jen, of xoxoJen, showing a gorgeous collection of blue polishes, which is one of my favourite shades by the way. Never too much bloooooooo!

Jen's blog always has a wide array of swatches from many different indie brands, and she also has a LIST on her blog that she regularly updates with links to the zillion different indie shops.

Anyhoo... on with the pretty!! Thank you so much Jen!! xoxo ( see what I did there? hehe)

Hi there! I'm excited to be Pam's guest today and I was honored when she invited me to share some of my swatches! If xoxo, Jen is new to you then you should know that I enjoy both indie and mainstream polishes. Polish is my passion, and everything I do, I do with love which is why I chose my email signature as my blog name! I also love the color purple, lime green and Giant Pandas! Its my dream to some day get to see a Giant Panda in person. Wouldn't that be awesome? Anywho - let's talk polish, shall we? Spring to Winter or day to night, there is one color that I always reach for but in different shades - and that is blue. It goes with just about everything and has a happy calming effect. Zoya Blu is a barely blue pastel, just like a bright springtime sky. My friend Connie introduced me to this color during our recent meetup and I had to have my own bottle. For the following swatches I wore two coats with topcoat. The formula for this polish is pretty amazing for a pastel blue. Most of the time, a blue like this is streaky and globby/thick. Zoya Blu is none of that - perfectly smooth and easy to work with. Sugar Rush!! Just what we get in the midst of summer with all the goodies like ice cream, popcicles, lemonade and a bluer sky! This Sinful Colors polish is also a favorite of mine for this shade of blue. Its fairly easy to apply (not as awesome as the zoya!), not too streaky but I did need that third coat to even it out just right. This would look great with little clouds painted or stamped on, don't ya think? Most Sinful is a very vibrant blue which is not a sky shade but is absolutely stunning! I don't think there is anything in nature this color but its a great summer polish and would work nicely for fall as well! Most Sinful from the Sinful Shine collection is nothing short of an amazing polish. It glides on all by itself! Minimal clean up and its opaque in one coat, although I'm a little bit of a sperg and did two coats. It doesn't have to be top coated because it shines like crazy, but again - I am a creature of habit so I used a top coat! What would a day full of polish be without the night? One of my favorite dark vampy blues is Illamasqua Phallic. Its a one coater, but I used two. Its a top coat eater which I didn't realize until after I shot the photos and the polish had cured a little longer. Phallic really has depth to it and the tiny shimmers are so pretty, like little stars twinkling. Its got the "glowy middle/dark edge" thing going on too, which I love!
